Our First Post: Love Locked!

Hi everyone!

Today, I wanted to introduce you to one of Jersey City’s most beautiful stores located right on Grove St. Love Locked features fair-trade and high quality jewelry from 100+ artists around the country including local Jersey City designers. This past week, I had the opportunity to speak with Ms. Kerri Lynn, the founder of Love Locked which opened on Newark Avenue in 2015. After a great year, it was able to relocate to their current location in 2016.

Ms. Lynn introduced me to all that Love Locked offers. They sell various jewelry items with a focus on wedding bands and engagement rings. She told me a story about how once a couple was so excited about their engagement ring from the store, their proposal was held in the store itself to their favorite song! The store values each handmade jewelry item with a story behind it and focuses on selling eco-friendly products as well. Their products are largely JC based with artists coming from our very own town.

From my conversation, I also learned about Ms. Lynn and her store itself. As a sole women entrepreneur, she focuses on empowering other women designers as well. A big fan of Grove St itself, some of Ms. Lynn’s favorite local businesses are Another Man’s Treasure and Frankie’s. As Love Locked continues to expand, their website will be released on September 1st featuring local JC models. The backspace of the store will also be fully renovated and turned into a “Jewel Box,” a beautiful sight for visitors to the store.

Before leaving, I was able to get a piece of advice from Ms. Lynn for others looking to begin small businesses. She says that by working ten minutes a day on your business and truly putting your heart in your idea will lead to a successful project!
